Actually, I found that in this case the child already knew more about gravity than the teen. The physics student didn’t seem as intuitive as I’d expect; perhaps she focuses on the math more, which I am not able to do. With the PhD candidate it seemed more like a discussion than an explanation. The professor seemed to be thinking “Why are you telling me things that are basic and obvious to both of us?”
