Answer:
A favourite guitar lost by John Lennon when The Beatles first became famous is to be auctioned in the United States later this year. The acoustic Gibson turned up in a secondhand shop in 2013, fifty years after it went missing during a Christmas gig in London. It has been declared genuine by an expert on Beatles instruments, matched against photographs and film footage of Lennon playing it, so it has that all-important stuff – provenance. Its auctioneers expect a record price.
