OFAH: Millionaires at last!

After so many years of saying “By this time next year, we’ll be millionaires!” it finally came true.
Del and Rodney go to Sotheby’s to auction off an item they had found…

Auctioneer
I feel I need say no more (after describing Del & rodney’s item).
I’d like to start the bidding at one hundred and fifty thousand pounds.
Thank you… Two hundred. Two fifty.

Del
Oh dear. It was when he said a hundred and fifty
thousand. That’s when I come over bad, me. (felt unwell, fainted)

Rodney
It went on, Del. Two hundred thousand, two fifty, three.
That’s when I dragged you out.

Del
You mean it ended up at three thousand pounds?

Rodney
It’s still going on?

Del
Well come on, let’s get back up there.

Auctioneer
Three and a quarter. Bidders in the room.
Three and a half.

Del
Three hundred and fifty thousand quid! (pounds)

Auctioneer
Three and three quarters. Four, thank you. The bid
stands at four million pounds.
Four and a quarter, four and a half…

Del
So, what was the final outcome?

Rodney
It was bought by an anonymous bidder. He’s
giving it to the Maritime Museum at Greenwich. So,
at least it stays in the country.

Del
Oh, yeah, well that’s nice, isn’t it?
No, you wally!  What was the final score? (result)
What exactly did it go for? (How much was it sold for?)

Rodney
Six point two million.
So that’s… just over three million each.

Del
Well, we’ve had worse days. (A popular positive sarcasm)

Rodney
Do you want go first or should I?

Del
Well, you know, why don’t we go together?

Rodney
Alright then. One, two, three….
