Elgar

Sir Edward Elgar is perhaps Britain’s most famous composer. There are other important composers whom I will introduce later, but first here is an example of Elgar’s Pomp And Circumstance March No.1, otherwise known as ‘Land Of Hope And Glory’, composed in 1901.

His music has been regarded as the most British sounding, and is used for patriotic events such as The Last Night Of The Proms, seen in this video at The Royal Albert Hall, London.
