Bollards have been put up on viaducts (a bridge over a road) in order to prevent a vehicle driving over the edge of the viaduct and down onto the road below.
2. Why have vehicles become weapons?
Al Qaeda and ISIS have stated in their online magazines that vehicles should be used as weapons.
3. What are the limitations in using barriers for large events?
It’s very cost-prohibitive, and also it takes a lot of time and organisation both before and after the events.
