News Exercise #237

I decided to use a video in which Royal Wedding onlookers were given the chance to express themselves:

1. In the opening sentence, how was this event described?
2. The East Londoner in the home-decorated suit (at 0:19) explained the jacket. What did he say? (I doubt that the Cockney accent is easy to catch!)
3. What question was he asked to which he laughed with his “No” answer?
4. At 1:42, what did the reporter say to the lady?
5. Outside the church, what occurred just before the words “I therefore proclaim that they are husband and wife”?

Answers:
1. In the opening sentence, how was this event described?
“There’s something about this couple’s happiness that is contagious.”
2. The East Londoner in the home-decorated suit (at 0:19) explained the jacket. What did he say? (I doubt that the Cockney accent is easy to catch!)
“It’s all handmade, all hand-sequined, all hand-stitched”
3. What question was he asked to which he laughed with his “No” answer?
“You’re not worried about upstaging the bride?”
4. At 1:42, what did the reporter say to the lady?
“You’re welling up!”
5. Outside the church, what occurred just before the words “I therefore proclaim that they are husband and wife”?
There was an impromptu singalong.
