He said that in the UK enrollment in physics and medicine is about 40% women and so it is getting towards parity, but that women are more numerous in biology and medicine.
2. What was her opinion for more women going into medicine that other fields of science?
She said that society values medicine more than physics so more women think that society would benefit from them going into that field.
3. Who formulated the initial theory that enabled lasers to be developed?
Einstein made the first equations for stimulated emission in 1917.
4. Why does she wear glasses?
She said that she was “far too squeamish” to have laser treatment, and she in fact doesn’t like any medical treatment.
