Christmas presents

Christmas presents – from family, from Santa:

There are two sets of presents at Christmas for children. It always seem unfair for parents that they have to save money all year to buy many presents from Santa, and also a main present from themselves. Usually, Santa’s presents ‘appear’ at the foot of the bed during the night, often inside a pillow case or sack. The kids run into their parents’ room with the sack in early Christmas morning (Dec 25^th) and take everything out to show their parents. Presents from the family (including aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents) are wrapped in festive paper and placed under the Christmas tree before Christmas. They are then opened on Christmas day, usually in the afternoon, after Christmas dinner.

子ども達が受け取るクリスマスプレゼントは、サンタから、そして親から。もちろん用意するのはどちらも親です。サンタから?のプレゼントは、イブの夜に子ども達のベッドの足元に用意された袋や枕カバーに入れられ、25日朝に幼い子ども達は大喜びで両親の部屋にかけこみ、プレゼントを開けます。家族や親戚からのプレゼントはクリスマス前にツリーの下に置かれ、25日ランチタイムのクリスマスディナーの後に開けるのが一般的です。大人もお互いにプレゼントを用意し、それぞれ自分の名前が書かれたプレゼントを手に取り、開けます。家族が一緒の、とても幸せなひと時です。
