Emmerdale

Emmerdale is Britain’s second-longest running soap opera. It follows the quiet, peaceful lives of people on a farm in in the nearby fictional village of Emmerdale, in Yorkshire. The focus is on country life and family relationships. Originally the show was about one family on the farm, but as time went by the show expanded and modernised.

Here is episode one from 1972. As you can see, the mood is very different in the opening theme music than the modern version. I much prefer this original version, though maybe that is just nostalgia!
