The Queen’s Christmas Speech

Every year, on Christmas day (December 25th) at 3pm, Queen Elizabeth II gives a speech live on BBC television. Most people have their Christmas dinner at lunch time, and by 3pm they have finished washing the dishes and have sat down – tired and very sleepy after a very big dinner with wine, and many hours of preparation and cleaning up. I remember most people dropping off to sleep before the Queen has finished. She talks about the past year, and her hopes for the coming year. The Queen’s Speech can be heard live on The British Monarchy website.
